New Kent eligible for Sandy relief

New Kent County is among a growing list of Virginia localities eligible for federal disaster assistance stemming from Hurricane Sandy.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low interest loans to eligible private nonprofit organizations that sustained physical or economic damage.

Eligibility information and application forms are available by calling 800-659-2955 or e-mailing disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Forms can be downloaded at sba.gov.

Deadlines are Jan. 25 for physical property damage applications and Aug. 26 for economic injury applications.
