Proclaiming NK Litter Awareness Day

Girl Scout Junior Troop 177 attended the Feb. 11 New Kent Board of Supervisors meeting to request that the board designate April 13 at New Kent Litter Awareness Day. The board unanimously approved the request. Pictured (front, l to r) are assistant leader Donna Mathis, Katie Gardy, Paige Hillis, Campbell Huber, Jennifer Fowlkes, Mikaela LoBosco, Abigail Cowles, Kayla Helt, Annabelle Brame, Shelby Rowe, Molly Wallace, and Sarah McGinley. In back are supervisors Tommy Tiller, Thomas Evelyn, Ron Stiers, Ray Davis, and Jimmy Burrell and troop leader Marcia Gardy. Not pictured are Abagayle Mathis, Megan Smith, and assistant leader Jennie Smith. The troop is working to earn its Bronze Award, the third highest award a Girl Scout can achieve. The troop plans to pick up litter at the courthouse complex and neighboring schools on April 13.
