Letter to the Editor: Says representation is key commission issue

Having read the dueling letters by Mr. Blunt and Mr. O’Keefe, I think Mr. Blunt makes the better point. For me, the main issue boiled down to whether we have one Planning Commission member per magisterial district or the current system of one per voting precinct.

It is not a personal attack to want some clarification on what the Board of Supervisors wants to do with the Planning Commission. Consolidating it at a time when more subdivisions are being built to capture the overflow from Hanover and Henrico counties may be penny wise in the short run, but pound foolish for the long term.

Supervisor Stiers’ colleagues apparently agreed with that line of logic. Due to the vitriol of Mr. O’Keefe’s letter, it makes one wonder who is really afraid of questions being raised.
