“A tea-totally good time” is in the works this spring as members of New Kent StageHands rehearse for their upcoming one-act play “Anybody for Tea?” The show is scheduled for Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, 7:30 p.m. at New Kent Middle School.

Dennis Sparks directs the one act comedy-mystery about the continuing trials of Dennis O’Finn, a homicide detective, played by Doug Schuler, as he tries to overcome the adoration of six lonely spinster ladies who live across the street.

Producer Martha Martin is collaborating with music director Sharon Whitman to write a saga weaving the main character from the one-act into an entire evening of theatre, music and dance.

Other actors and vocalists performing are Gale Auer, Dianne Cannon, Mark Fulcher, Phyllis Geron, Karen Hill, Deb Hockaday, Debbie Ivey, Steven Russell, Beverley Sparks, Dennis Walters, and Grace Woodward. Stage manager is Jim Rader.

Advance tickets ($5) may be obtained by calling Beverley Sparks at 966-5972 or visiting C & F Bank in Providence Forge. Tickets at the door are $7.
