Washburn named executive director

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the hiring of Ashlee C. Washburn as its new county executive director for the Four Rivers county office in Quinton.

Washburn is a native of Franklin County and graduated May 2012 from UVA-Wise with a degree in biology. While attending college, she served as student government president and captain of the Lady Highland Cavaliers softball team.

“I am very excited to be in the Four Rivers office,” Washburn said in a press release. “The location, staff, and other USDA agency personnel are wonderful. I look forward to working with everyone and getting acclimated to the huge grain farms and other agriculture in the counties we service.”
