Aviary adventure

More than 50 kids packed Heritage Public Library in New Kent during Virginia Living Museum’s “For the Birds” presentation last Friday. Above, director of education for the museum Jim Drummond (right) holds a Northern Pygmy owl, one of the smallest species of its kind in the world, as kids take turns touching its feathers.
