Young ladies benefitted on Aug. 6 during an outreach program provided by MatureHearts LLC during Charles City County’s Parks and Recreation summer program. The charity organization based out of Hampton Roads provided activities to girls ages 9-15. The outreach program entitled “Empower Hour” is a tool to inspire and promote self-love, self-esteem, motivation, develop life skills, healthy coping skills, decision-making skills and ultimately inspire youth to be positive productive members of society. The charity organization was founded by three young women; Safiyyah Ashanti, Chiara Quinn, and Charles City native Monica Woodley (sitting, third from left.).
