Resource fair available to local residents

Helping New Kent and Charles City students and adults with developmental disabilities and their families prepare for and live a full life as adults is the goal of the “Life in the Community Conference and Resource Fair” on Nov. 16, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at 8800 River Road United Methodist Church, Richmond.

The free conference and resource fair features Dr. David Pitonyak, internationally acclaimed expert on positive behavior strategies who will deliver the keynote address, “The Importance of Belonging.”

Social Security, vocational and post high school education options and alternatives to guardianship are some of the important topics that will be covered in workshops. Thirty providers of employment, residential, recreational and much more will be exhibiting and present to discuss their programs.
