Bowman appointed to Virginia Senate Page program

Jordan Bowman, an eighth grader at Charles City Middle School, has been appointed as a Senate Page for the 2014 Virginia General Assembly session from March 6-8.

Bowman received the recognition for his accomplishments as a well-rounded individual. He is president of the National Junior Honor Society at his school, secretary of Cedar Grove Baptist Church’s Youth Ministry STRIVE, and plays baritone saxaphone for Charles City’s High School Marching Panther Band.

Duties for Bowman will include delivery of correspondence, assisting senators during floor sessions, staffing information desks, and greeting visitors.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with the senators in the General Assembly,” Bowman said in a press release.

Bowman is one of 11 pages from congressional districts, representing the 9th Senatorial District and receiving high commendation from Sen. Donald McEachin.

Bowman will attend the training seminar to prepare for the session from Jan. 5-Mar. 5.
