Arts Alive presenting “Merry Wives”
Arts Alive, Inc. is presenting Shakespeare Center’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor” on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m.
The play is based on an urban legend claiming that Queen Elizabeth asked Shakespeare to write a play featuring “the fat knight in love.” The play dictates the events of the story and is presented by the American Shakespeare Center (ASC), a regional theatre company.
Doors open and pre-show music begins at 6:30 p.m, with curtain opening at 7:00 p.m. at the Robinson/Olsson Civic Auditorium in West Point.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors (65 and over), and $10 for students. Tickets are available by phone at 843-3475, email at artsaliveinc@yahoo.com, or online at www.artsaliveinc.org. Tickets may also be purchased at C&F Bank branches in West Point or at the door. Group rates are available at $15 each for groups of 10 or more.
In conjunction with the play, Arts Alive is presenting a photo exhibit beginning Jan. 14 and concluding Mar. 11.
The exhibit will allow members of the public to show and present their photographs for viewing pleasure. All photo work must be framed and ready to be hung for presentation by 9 a.m. on Jan. 14.
