Adult classes coming soon to Bridging Communities
New Kent Parks and Recreation is excited to partner with Bridging Communities Career and Technical School to bring lifelong learning opportunities to adults ages 18 and up with its first offering of adult classes.
The first two classes commence Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Bridging Communities campus.
The first course offering is a mobile application (mobile app) development class that introduces students to the basics on how to develop applications for mobile platforms. The course is specifically geared for Apple iOS and Google Android devices.
Students will obtain tools and introductory knowledge necessary to create applications that run on various mobile devices including Apple (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), Google’s Android systems and Windows phones.
Course tuition for this class is $25. Classes are every Thursday, 6-7:30 p.m., from Jan. 30-Mar. 6.
The second offered course is an automotive basic class.
This course introduces students to basic knowledge and concepts of automotive care and maintenance.
Topics include vehicle safety, maintenance, brakes, tires, fluids, and electrical systems. Students are encouraged to dress for a hands on experience.
Cost of tuition for this class is $50. Classes are every Thursday, Jan. 30-Mar. 6, 4-6 p.m.
Both courses will be taught by experienced Bridging Communities instructors.
