Life-saving hero

New Kent Superintendent of Schools Rick Richardson (right) embraces bus driver Tansel Ferrell after her actions helped save the life of a 15-year old New Kent High School female student on Dec. 3. Richardson also honored school resource officer Heath Jenkins, who executed first aid and CPR, and Stephen King, the school's transportation director, who coordinated the evacuation, who also helped with the lifesaving actions.
