NK Envirothon activities earth-friendly

New Kent Cooperative Extension, in conjunction with the New Kent Clean County Committee and Virginia Farm Bureau, will celebrate Earth Day at its annual “New Kent Environthon” event on Saturday, Apr. 12.

The event will consist of activities for all ages, designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment.

Earth friendly demonstrations are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and available for the whole family. “Ocean in Motion,” an aquarium and touch tank, in addition to a live animal demonstration by AWARE rehabilitators and educations, will be on-hand as well.

The event will be held at the New Kent Historic School, located at 11809 New Kent Highway.
