NKHC hosting ‘Freedom Calls’ event

New Kent Historic Commission is hosting “World War II: Freedom Call” on Saturday, June 7, 12-8 p.m. at the New Kent Historic School.

The event is honoring men and women who lived during June 7, 1941, during the Invasion of Normandy by the Allied troops. The commission plans to honor ten New Kent men who paid the ultimate price for freedom, as well as other veterans of the period.

Documentaries illustrating various actions of war will be playing throughout the day. Military artifacts including tents, printed materials, and vehicles will be on display. Time period musical entertainment and food will also be available.

The event is open to all guests and admission is free.
