Letter to the editor: Thanks motorists that stopped for loose dog

I want to give a huge thank you to the ladies and gentlemen on Route 249 who so graciously stopped in both directions for me on Wednesday, April 9. My little dog played Houdini at Sarah’s Cuttery, escaped his collar and ran across the road that afternoon around 4:30 p.m. When I stepped into the road to stop traffic, everyone stopped and waited patiently while I trailed my puppy down the road.

Thank you to the gentleman who tried hard to capture him. Another big thank you to the gentleman in the big red truck who got out, stopped the puppy and convinced him to turn back to my waiting arms!

Everyone was so patient and I sincerely want to thank you all for a helping to make a story end very happily!
