Arts Alive offers 2014 summer camps
Arts Alive will offer two summer camps this year in conjunction with the West Point Schools–the Summer Arts Camp and the Missoula Drama Camp.
The Summer Arts camp, sponsored by Charles City-James City-New Kent-York County Farm Bureau, offers classes to be held daily during the week of June 23-27 from 9 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Classes offered include dance, visual arts, photography, drama, music, and more. They will be taught by local teachers and artists, and are available for Kindergarten-age 14.
Cost is $45 for the week long class, or $150 for four week long classes. Price includes supplies and a camp T-shirt. Five $100 scholarships will also be offered for the Summer Arts camp.
The Missoula Drama Camp will be held the week of August 4-9.
Campers will rehearse and attend workshops all week with two professional actors from the Missoula Children’s Theatre to present two performances of “The Secret Garden.” Performances will be held at the Robinson/Olsson Auditorium on Aug. 9 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
This camp is open to students from grades K-11. Cost is $80 for the week with an additional cost for performance tickets. Camp hours are 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a day-long commitment on Saturday. Campers seven and under will finish at noon every day except Saturday. All campers will participate in the performances of “The Secret Garden.”
Registration opens at 5 p.m. on May 9 and both camps will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline for the registration form is May 31.
