Letter to the editor: Says schools should open later during SOLs

One of the biggest events each year for students are SOLs. My teachers always tell me it is important to get a good night’s sleep before SOLs.

I understand that and agree with them, but what I do not understand is why school starts at 7:20 a.m. (meaning I have to catch the bus at 6:55 a.m.) In my opinion, if the school was serious about ensuring I got a good night sleep before SOLs are given, they would start school after lunch on the days those tests are given.
