‘Bearing’ down for a cause

Sisters Lauren and Lucy Vick embrace the “Trojan Bear” as part of a Oct. 13-17 giveaway to raise funds for the Jacob Vick Student-Athlete scholarship fund. The bear, donated by Scattered Stitches, was one of two bears raffled to raise a total of $550 for the scholarship fund, along with an additional $100 for New Kent High School’s athletic department in memory of Jacob Vick. Emiley Angle (below), a New Kent High School student, was the winner of the other bear.
