“Christmas Presence” returns to New Kent

New Kent Stagehands will present the return of “Christmas Presence, a Celebration of the Holiday” in two sets of weekend performances.

Written by locals Martha Martin, Lee Stanford, and Sharon Whitman, the play captures the real meaning of Christmas through stories and songs. The play centers around Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at Grandma Judith Matthews’ house where a mysterious stranger joins them.

Cast members will present the play Nov. 14-15 and Nov. 21-22, at New Kent Middle School. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., with tickets $5/advance and $7/door. A special matinee performance is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 16, 3 p.m.
