St. Peter’s Parish awards two scholarships

St. Peter’s Parish has recently awarded two scholarships to New Kent High School graduating seniors.

Zacheriah Quimby and Torun Carlson were selected and will each receive $1,000 scholarships courtesy of the Louise Miller Clopton and William Boyd Clopton Memorial Scholarship fund. Quimby will continue his studies at High Point University to pursue a major in history, while Carlson plans to attend the University of Virginia and major in biology.

A committee chaired by Bill O’Keefe selected the recipients based on their strong moral character, religious involvement, community service, motivation, academic success, maturity, and commitment to their community.
