Honoring our veterans

Above, members of Boy Scout Troops 518 and 562 as well as Girl Scout Troops 565 and 6571 post the colors as veterans and students look on during Friday morning’s Veterans Day ceremony at New Kent Middle School. The ceremony continues to recognize those who sacrificed so much for the country’s freedom. Below, the Rev. Dr. James L. Sailes, a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Army, speaks about the courage and attentiveness given by those who served in the armed forces, while at bottom, New Kent Middle School’s choir provides a medley rendition of songs as they perform “Armed Forces-The Pride of America.”
