HERO contest winners were recognized during a Monday evening ceremony by New Kent’s school board. This year’s New Kent Strong theme “Being Kind is Being Strong” resulted in several winners in a number of artistic and technological categories. Above, winners in the 2D art poster contest from George Watkins Elementary School are Bryden Goodman (1st), Jason Brooks (2nd), Lorelai Mooradian (3rd), and Lilliana Wood (4th). Commercial/PSA winners are Ashlyn Bristow (1st), Leah Rounds (2nd), the team of Aden Alexander, Alyssa Jones, Serenity Pena, Alex King, Derek Fallon, Jediah Miller, and Ayana Watkins (3rd), and Victoria Ranschaert (4th). Also recognized is New Kent Elementary School 2D art poster contest winner Kaylyn Fitzpatrick.
