Providence Forge Christmas Parade is Dec. 8
The 15th annual Providence Forge Christmas Parade will be held on Sunday, Dec. 8, beginning at 2 p.m.
The parade route will occupy eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) between Carriage Road (Rt. 629) and Olivet Church Road (Rt. 618). Traffic will be closed at 1:45 p.m. and diverted to Boulevard Road to bypass the parade route.
The parade co-grand marshals will be Sgt. Jonathan Miles of the Virginia State Police, and the Rev. Daniel W. Patterson Jr. Miles is the brother of the late Sgt. Floyd Miles Jr. of Charles City County, who served in Charles City Sheriff’s Office for 16 years before passing away in the line of duty. Patterson is the pastor of Little Elam Baptist Church, who lives in New Kent County and played multiple sports for New Kent High School before entering into law enforcement, serving for 24 years before his retirement.
The parade will also honor the late Richard W. Morris Jr. Morris was a founding member of the Providence Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad and passed away in Nov. 2023. Morris dedicated hours to training and active emergency respond services from the 1960s to the 1980s.
There is no cost to participate in the parade. Entry forms can be picked up from the local C&F Banks in Providence Forge and Quinton.
