Dogwood Classic

Spectators line the rail and watch as the closely bunched eight-horse field in the second race at Saturday’s Dogwood Classic steeplechase races at Colonial Downs gallops through the final turn and heads for the last fence in the 2¼-mile event. For more on the inaugural running of the classic that took place in picture perfect, but slightly cool weather before close to 2,000 in attendance.

Tailgating proved popular for the New Kent residents (above) and most attending Saturday’s inaugural running of the Dogwood Classic steeplechase races at Colonial Downs.
