Four suspects arrested in NK

New Kent County Sheriff’s Office has arrested several individuals and charged them with multiple felony allegations:

Roland David Grzymala II, 36, of 3390 Vaidens Ct., Lanexa, is charged with one count each of forcible sodomy, abduction, aggravated sexual battery, and carnal knowledge of a child under the age of 13. Grzymala is accused of allegedly committing the aforementioned offenses with a 12-year old female between Dec. 12-26 of last year. He was being held without bond.

Joseph Bartley Lawhorn, 22, of 6805 Washington Road, Quinton, is charged with two counts of burglary, one count of petit larceny, one count of embezzlement, and one misdemeanor count of unlawful entry. According to a summary of the incident by New Kent Sheriff’s Office, Lawhorn, a former employee of Snap Fitness, allegedly returned to the property after being told not to and stole equipment. Lawnhorn was arrested on June 14.

Miranda Layne Morgan, 22, of 5230 Olivet Church Road, New Kent, on one count each on burglary, domestic assault, misdemeanor simple assault, and misdemeanor trespassing. On June 23, Morgan allegedly assaulted two individuals and forced her way into a residence to commit the act. She was held on bond.

Johnathan Wade Southworth, 43, of 6235 Hickory Road, Quinton, is charged with one count petit larceny (third offense in 10 years). Southworth allegedly stole a bottle of wine and case of beer from Food Lion in Quinton. He was being held on bond.

New state troopers in CC, NK

Virginia State Police welcomed 90 new troopers to its ranks during commencement ceremonies on June 28. Three of those graduates will now monitor New Kent and Charles City.

Among the graduates is Robert Henry Tench III. Tench is a native of Charles City and has been assigned his hometown.

In New Kent, Matthew David Jester and Michael Ryan Udriet are new troopers assigned to the county. Both men are residents of Mechanicsville.

The new troopers completed a 34-week training session and nearly 1700 hours of classroom instruction. They began their individual duty assignments on July 1.
