Several suspects arrested during holiday break in New Kent

New Kent Sheriff’s Office has arrested several individuals in relation to alleged incidents over the holidays:

–Christopher Michael Walls, 28, and Jesse Ray Edwards, 22, both of the 1300 block of Waterside Drive, Lanexa, have been arrested on separate charges in relation to an altercation. Walls has been charged with one count of malicious wounding, while Edwards is charged with one count of assault and battery.

According to the police report, New Kent deputies responded to a Dec. 29 call of a fight at a residence on Waterside Drive. Upon arrival, deputies located Edwards, who had sustained several injuries to the face and was taken to a local hospital. Deputies later identified Walls as the other alleged party involved in the altercation and arrested him. After speaking to a magistrate, Walls was able to obtain a warrant for the arrest of Edwards for allegedly initiating the fight. Edwards was arrested and both parties were being held on a $1,000 secured bond.

–Courtney Lee Stephenson, 26, of the 1100 block of Stewart Drive, Williamsburg, and Emily Marie Bowles, 22, of the 900 block of Foley Drive, Williamsburg, both were arrested on one charge each of possession of a controlled substance (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, and shoplifting.

On Dec. 24, management at the Providence Forge Food Lion observed two women acting suspiciously in the store. After calling authorities, deputies arrived at the scene and spoke to Stephenson and Bowles, the alleged suspects. After an investigation, a New Kent deputy identified that the two suspects allegedly shoplifted items from the store. After a search, heroin was found on the suspects and they were taken into custody and remain in Henrico Jail East.
