Six indicted by NK grand jury

A New Kent Circuit Court Grand Jury indicted six individuals during Jan. 13 court proceedings:

–Jason Michael Allen, 32, of the 200 block of Hillcrest Drive, Johnson City, Tennessee, on one count of grand larceny. According to the indictment, on August 26 of last year, Allen allegedly stole jewelry belonging to William Madison.

–Garrett Adam Mertz, 30, of the 800 block of Cedarwood Court, Chesapeake, on one count of possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone). Mertz allegedly possessed the substance when taken into custody last July 16.

–Melissa Dawn Miffleton, 27, (address unlisted), on one count of attempted burglary. Miffleton allegedly attempted to burglarize the home of Lori Dunsta last August 9.

–Conner Thompson O’Leary, 27, of the 3500 block of South Woodland Circle, Quinton, on one count of grand larceny. According to the indictment, the defendant allegedly stole a firearm belonging to Clifford Mazzetti on August 27 of last year.

–Kyle Douglas Slater, 20, of the 4800 block of Good Hope Road, Lanexa, on one count of receiving stolen property. Slater allegedly took into possession two stolen golf carts last June 26.

–Jonathan Wade Southworth, 43, of the 6000 block of Pine Road, Quinton, on two counts of petty larceny. According to the indictment, on June 30 and July 22 last year, Southworth confiscated beer from a Quinton Food Lion on two separate occasions.
