Twelve New Kent teens arrested in South Carolina for alleged alcohol possession

Twelve of 17 Virginia teenagers arrested this weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in connection with underage drinking are from New Kent County.

According to the Horry County Sheriff’s Department, each teen has been charged with one count of alcoholic beverages purchase, consumption, or possession by a minor.

Ten of the 12 teens are adults and have been identified on the Horry County Sheriff’s website as:

–Christopher William Bennett, 19 (New Kent).

–Taylor Nicole Brightwell, 18 (Providence Forge).

–Cody Nicholas Cobb, 19 (Quinton).

–Mason Andrew Downer, 19 (Quinton).

–Danielle Rain Foster, 18, (New Kent).

–Roger Wilson Gregory, 18 (New Kent).

–Kevin Jayson Karaffa, 18 (New Kent).

–Luke Gerald Mechling, 18, (Quinton).

–Dakota Hawk Oxendine, 19 (New Kent).

–Austin Taylor Pitts, 18 (Barhamsville).

Two 17-year olds are not being named. According to the website, all have been released on bail. No court dates have been set.
