Three indicted in Charles City Circuit Court

A Charles City man who confiscated a dump truck has been indicted in Charles City Circuit Court.

Terrell Wesley Williams, 21, of the 4500 block of Barnetts Road, was indicted with one count each of grand larceny and destruction of property during July 1 proceedings.

According to the indictment, on July 19, 2013, Williams allegedly stole the aforementioned vehicle belonging to Waste Management. When attempting to leave the property with the vehicle, he rammed into the fence, triggering the destruction on property charge. Williams was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

In other circuit court proceedings:

–Vernon Hugo Johnson Jr., 43, of the 3900 block of Wayside Road, Charles City, was indicted on two counts of forgery, two counts of uttering, and one count of larceny. Last Nov. 8, Johnson allegedly cashed stolen checks at Colonial Mart in Charles City.

–Donald Leroy Lewis, 66, of the 900 block of E. 29th Street, Norfolk, on one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Last December 22, Lewis allegedly trespassed on the county’s shooting range after hours. A background check revealed he had been convicted on a previous felony.
