Drug raid targets, 7-Eleven suspects among New Kent indictments
Three suspects who were arrested during a May 12 drug raid at a New Kent County campground have been indicted by a grand jury on new, unrelated charges during Sept. 15 New Kent Circuit Court proceedings.
Jason Andrew Meade, 25, of the 6000 block of Hopewell Road, New Kent, and Whitney Renee Marciniak, 24, of the 200 block of N. Ivy Avenue, Highland Springs, each received 18 indictments relating to thefts of car batteries and wires that occurred in April and May of this year.
According to the indictments, Meade and Marciniak allegedly stole a variety of items from homes and vehicles during the two-month time period. Among the items were car batteries, car battery wires, welding leads, welding tools, and a generator.
Each suspect is charged with five counts of grand larceny, five counts of grand larceny with intent to sell, and eight counts of misdemeanor petty larceny. Meade and Marciniak also have been charged with two counts of burglary in an unrelated May 12 incident. Allegedly, the duo burglarized the homes of Gloria Gunn and Lynn Stanton.
In May, Meade and Marciniak were indicted by another grand jury on charges relating to the May 12 drug raid during which authorities seized material used in methamphetamine and marijuana production. Both face additional charges of manufacturing and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine; firearm, heroin, and cocaine possession; conspiracy to distribute heroin, and misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Nathaniel Blake Atkins, 24, of the 13000 block of Cooks Mill Road, Lanexa, who was also arrested during the drug raid, is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance. Atkins allegedly possessed the substance on May 2.
The grand jury also indicted two suspects who allegedly robbed the 7-Eleven convenience store located in the Eltham part of the county.
Michael Sylvester Robinson, 38, of the 4300 block of Custis Mill Pond Road, West Point, and Trey Daquan Smith, 19, of the 200 block of Clancie Road, Shacklefords, each received indictments stemming from the May 6 early morning robbery of the establishment. According to the indictments, both men entered the 7-Eleven, robbed the clerk on duty, Paula Jordan, and used a weapon to commit the crime, with the duo allegedly getting away with $265 in cash. No one was injured during the incident.
Two days later and acting on a tip, authorities swooped down on Robinson’s residence in King William in a 2 a.m. raid to find both suspects inside. Also at the scene, investigators recovered the cash allegedly stolen from the store.
Robinson is charged with one count of armed robbery, while Smith received indictments on one count each of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and using a firearm to commit a robbery.
In other circuit court indictments:
–Gregory Alan William Campbell, 23, and Stephanie Michelle Stroop, 22, both of the 6400 block of Maple Road, Quinton, have both been charged with crimes relating to burglaries at the home of Thane Allen and Rhonda Hill on Aug. 9. Each has been charged with one count of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, and misdemeanor petty larceny (power washer and air compressor). Campbell has also been indicted on a single count of grand larceny during an unrelated June 8 incident where he allegedly stole a dirt bike belonging to Timothy Joseph Higgins.
–Eric Wayne Gillard, 45, of the 23000 block of Andrew Court, Windsor, and James Walter Walker, 56, of the 3600 block of Sherwood Place, Suffolk, on one count each of grand larceny. Allegedly, both men stole tires belonging to Carrier Transport on May 26. Gillard is also charged with one count of possession of burglary tools.
–Mary Kathryn Honsinger, 28, of the 7200 block of Otey Drive, Lanexa, on one count of possession of heroin. The defendant allegedly possessed the substance last May 27.
–Shevinah Purnell Johnson, 19, of Henrico Jail East, on one count of assault and battery on an officer. Johnson allegedly assaulted a guard on March 3 at Henrico Jail East.
–Bryan Scott Jordan, 27, of the 100 block of Black Gum Road, West Point, on one count of petty larceny (third offense). Jordan allegedly stole items last May 3 with a value of $200 or less from the Surf & Turf store in the county.
–Winston Allen Kirby, 36, of the 3800 block of Poverty Hall, Quinton, on one count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kirby allegedly had the items last April 4.
–Joseph Adam Klesh, 19, of the 9600 block of Chesapeake Boulevard, Apt. 23, on two counts of grand larceny, one count of burglary, and three counts of misdemeanor entering a vehicle without permission. Last Jan. 8, Klesh allegedly burglarized the home of Thomas Peter Sullivan and stole cigarettes and a Magellan GPS device. He also allegedly entered into unlocked vehicles belonging to Sullivan, Michael Vorano, and Leslie Cousins.
–Charles Edward Laxton IV, 34, of the 100 block of W. Riverside Drive, Lanexa, on one count of misdemeanor escape. Laxton allegedly escaped authorities while in custody on Sept. 11.
–Steve Lorenzo Olvis, 35, of the 3700 block of North Avenue, Richmond, on one count each of uttering, forgery, and obtaining money under false pretenses. Last April 30, Olvis allegedly forged a check from the bank account of Express Employment Professionals and received funds from that account from Bank of America.
–Aaron Blue Parker, 29, of 18 Whispering Pines, Newport, North Carolina, on one count of felony eluding police. Parker allegedly fled police on Sept. 17, 2013 after receiving a signal to pull over his vehicle.
–Kheang Rothdarra Samoun Pok, 35, of the 200 block of Bartee Road, Richmond, with two counts of child endangerment. Pok allegedly operated a vehicle while intoxicated last June 23 and while having two underage children as passengers.
–Marcus Akeem Pryor, 26, of the 3000 block of Montrose Avenue, Richmond, on one count of possession of a controlled schedule I or II substance. Pryor allegedly possessed methamphetamine on March 16.
–Evan Roy Sluder, 32, of the 5300 block of Adams Road, Quinton, on one count each of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor DUI (second offense within five years.) Last April 4, Sluder allegedly possessed a substance during his arrest. The DUI charge stems from a May 1, 2013 incident.
