Chesapeake man receives six months for illegally possessing ammunition in New Kent
A Chesapeake man will spend six months in jail for illegally possession ammunition after being convicted as a felon.
Seth Allen Przepiora Jr., 21, of the 1400 block of Winslow Avenue, entered a guilty plea to an amended charge of possession of ammunition by a convicted felon (originally possession of a gun by a nonviolent felon) as part of a plea deal reached on Sept. 3. One charge of possession of a Schedule I/II drug and possession of a gun while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug was dropped as part of the agreement.
In a summary of evidence provided by New Kent Commonwealth Attorney Scott Renick, on Mar. 17, 2023, a police officer executed a traffic stop in Bottoms Bridge on a vehicle that was speeding. After the vehicle pulled over in the McDonald’s parking lot, the officer received information about the vehicle and conducted a search. The officer discovered ammunition in the back seat in the area where one of the passengers, later identified as Przepiora, was sitting. A background check revealed that Przepiora was a convicted felon, and he was arrested on the charge.
Under the agreement, Przepiora received a five-year sentence with four years, six months suspended.
