Charles City delays date on personal property taxes

Charles City County has announced the delay of paying personal property tax.

The announcement came during the Nov. 26 Charles City Board of Supervisors meeting. Interim County Administrator Bill Coada indicated that Commissioner of the Revenue Candice Jones has taken place due to the county undergoing new developments regarding tax assessments.

Residents who have already paid their personal property tax will be issued a refund on some items within the next 60 days. All other residents will receive a notice with a new tax date on the personal property. The delay on the personal property taxes has no impact on the real estate taxes, which are still due by Dec. 5.
