Ann Adams Evelyn

Ann Adams Evelyn, 91, of Quinton, Virginia, passed away on July 18, 2023.

Ann retired from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. She was a long-standing member of Good Hope Baptist Church for which she was the organist for many years. Her love of music also included providing piano lessons to those interested in the community and filling in as a temporary organist at several local churches. She was also previously an active volunteer for Quinton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies and Auxiliary.

Ann’s love of gardening and birds was well known to all, in addition to her life’s later interest in painting. Very special thanks are extended to her long-term caregivers, Maggi Parker, Rebecca Rynders, Holly Naggy, and Kayleigh Elbourn.

Ann is predeceased by her husband, Aubrey Evelyn.

She is survived by her three daughters, Leighann Quarles (Steve), Frances Davidson (Dave), and Patty Townsend (Will); six grandchildren, Chris Quarles (Nicole), Jessica Lowder (Joe), John Townsend (Katie), Eric Quarles, Chase Davidson (Rachael) and William Townsend (Katie); and lastly ten great-grandchildren, Payton, Jaxon, Sara Beth, Tyler, Reed, Jack, Perkins, Waverly, Braylon, and Charlie.

The family received friends on Saturday, July 22, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home in Providence Forge, Virginia. A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 23, 2 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home. Interment was held at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 9101 Adkins Road, Charles City, Virginia.
