Dorothy Douglas Moore

Dorothy Douglas Moore, 85, of New Kent, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023.

Dorothy loved nature that spanned from flowers and plants, all the way to animals. She enjoyed getting out and about traveling by the way of bus trips and cruise lines. She loved riding on the Gator with her dogs. Most importantly, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on the days when they would sit under the carport eating crabs. She was a lifetime member of Hopewell Baptist Church in New Kent, where she will be missed by her church family.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James K. Moore; her son, Jamie Moore Jr.; her brothers, Hubbert Douglas, Garland Lee Douglas, Billy Douglas, and C.E. Ballard; and sister, Dianne Baldwin.

She is survived by her daughter, Joy Blake (Erik); daughter-in-law, Holly Moore; granddaughter, Tabitha Luke (Chris); great-grandchildren, Calum and Aria; sisters, Myrtle “Sissie” Moore and Ruby Bowers; and brother, Jerry Douglas.
