Several New Kent and Charles City athletes have earned all-district status at the conclusion of the fall sports season.

New Kent senior middle blocker/outside hitter Karley Allen is not only a first team Region I selection, but has been named Region I Player of the year. She is also a member of the All-Bay Rivers District team in volleyball, as well as the district’s player of the year. She is now the school’s record holder in kills for a single season having recently eclipsed the old mark of 444 kills set in 2006 by Sarah Hunkele.

Joining Allen on the first team in the district is junior setter Gina Sledd. Sledd also earned second team Region I honors as well. Senior outside hitter Jena Williams, senior middle blocker/outside hitter Kelsey Stanbro, and junior libero/defensive specialist Skylar Cossaboon received honorable mention in the Bay Rivers district.

In football, Charles City seniors Avery Jones and Jaelen Williams received multiple first team All-Tri-Rivers District honors. Jones made the first team as a utility back on offense, defensive back, and punter along with second team status as a punt return man. Williams earned first team spots as a tackle on offense and a down lineman on defense.

Charles City senior Jovan Howard made the second team as a defensive back while junior offensive guards Bobby Collins and Garrett Smith, junior placekicker Nils Friese, and sophomore linebacker Jaquane Wyatt received honorable mention.

New Kent senior wide receiver Chase Dunn has been named first team All-Bay Rivers in football. Senior center Bailey Angle and junior quarterback Luke Mechling received honorable mention.

New Kent junior Elizabeth Heath has been selected for the second team in All-Bay Rivers District field hockey. Junior Taylor Williams and sophomore Claire Morris received honorable mention.
