NK golf team posts success

New Kent High School’s golf team finished third in Bay Rivers District and qualified for the Region I tournament.
New Kent High School’s golf team finished third in Bay Rivers District to automatically qualify for the Region I golf tournament.
The Trojans finished sixth in the region while shooting their best team score of the year. The team was led by upperclassmen Caleb Baldwin, Sarah Baldwin, Ben Harrison, and Travis Frazier. Caleb, Sarah, and Ben also served as team captains. Other team members are Cole Hitchcock, Will Johnson, Bryce Paige, Jordan Peck, Austin Pierce, and Parker Wallace.
Individual statistics for the year are:
–Travis Frazier- second team all district, average score of 79.86, best score of 76.
–Caleb Baldwin- honorable mention all-district, average score of 82.12, best score of 76.
–Sarah Baldwin- honorable mention all-district, average score of 85.76, best score of 76, qualified for girls’ state championship placing 28th.
–Ben Harrison- average score of 86.82, best score of 83.
–Parker Wallace- average score of 87.53, best score of 81.
–Jordan Peck- average score of 92.44, best score of 90.
–Cole Hitchcock- average score of 96.50, best score of 96.
–Austin Pierce- average score of 100.57, best score of 96.
First year golf coach Charles Davis expressed pleasure with the efforts of all team members and looks forward to working with the core of returning players.
