Savage 21st in AA state cross country

New Kent’s Austin Savage finished 21st overall and 13th in scoring as the New Kent’s cross country team finished in 14th in last Saturday’s Group AA cross country championships.

Savage finished in 16:29 over the 3.1-mile Great Meadow course near Warrenton. Other scorers for the Trojans were Andrew Carlin (56th, 17:22), Tyler Brightwell (83rd, 17:59), Tanner Smith (94th, 18:16), and Christopher Rolince (101st, 18:37). Also running for the Trojans were Ben Johnston (102nd, 18:37) and Micah Scorsone (104th, 18:39). New Kent scored 347 points.
