NK wrestlers 2nd in region, 4th in Group AA state

New Kent’s Bay Rivers District champion wrestling team finished second in the Region I meet and placed fourth overall at the Group AA state meet.

Blake Hohman (126), Corey Todd (132), and B.C. LaPrade (138) won championships at the Region I meet held Feb. 9 at King George. Wilson Gregory (220) placed second while Bryson Mitchell (113) and Brett Flora (152) took third. Jackson Gray (106) and Devin Gouldine (170) finished fourth.

Flora, meanwhile, excelled at the Feb. 16 Group AA state meet in Salem by finishing as the runner-up at 152 pounds. Todd placed third in his weight division while Hohman and LaPrade captured fourth.
