Paddy McSweet team wins NK 4-H golf tournament

The Paddy McSweet team of Pete Sweet, Ray O’Leary, Brian McCaughan, and Conner O’Leary shot a 15 under par 57 to win the New Kent 4-H Golf Classic.

The Paddy McSweet team of Pete Sweet, Ray O’Leary, Brian McCaughan, and Conner O’Leary carded a 15 under par 57 to win the New Kent 4-H Golf Classic held on April 19 at Brookwoods Golf Club in Quinton.

Davis Produce (Paul Davis, Craig Pierce, Bill Gammon, Bill Hopke) placed second with a 12 under par 60 while Pro Powder & Paint (Jim Fyfe, Jacob Fyfe, Kevin Harrison, Richard Calvert) came in third at 11 under par 61.

Organized by the New Kent Virginia Cooperative Extension for the New Kent 4-H Scholastic Fund, the tournament featured 13 teams (52 golfers). Money raised will help promote and support New Kent and Charles City 4-H programs.
