Williams qualifies for national rodeo

Blaine Williams, a seventh grade student at New Kent Middle School, has earned a position on Virginia’s National Junior High rodeo team.

Williams will travel to the ninth annual National Junior High Finals Rodeo (NJHFR) in Gallup, New Mexico, June 23-29 and compete in the boys’ goat tie and ribbon roping competition.

NJHFR features more than 1,000 contestants in 41 states and five Canadian provinces and Australia and provides more than $100,000 in scholarship money.
