District winners

New Kent Babe Ruth All-Stars won the District 1 Championship on July 7 in Newport News. The team posted wins over Denbigh and defeated Gloucester twice, including a 10-8 win in the championship game. The team will head to play in the state tournament in West Virginia. Team members are Ty Boyette, Ryan Curle, Ian Edmonds, Brandon Ferry, Brian Gray, Heath Hardiman, Braden Herring, DJ Herring, Jared Mitchell, Hunter Pitts, Brett Richardson, Thomas Snead, Mason Tate, Aaron Wiggins, and Justin Williams. The bat boy is Gavin Richardson and the team is coached by Manager Marc Tate, Top Pitts, and Charlie Herring.
