Colonial Downs host VA Stampede

The Virginia Stampede Pro Rodeo presented by Myrna’s Boots ‘n Bits returns to Colonial Downs on Friday, Apr. 18, and Saturday, Apr. 19, beginning at 7 p.m.

Seven different IPRA (International Pro Rodeo Association) events will take place including bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, calf roping, and others.

Kentucky based rodeo clown Mighty Mike Wentworth will entertain throughout the performances and announcer Matt McGee will emcee for the third straight time in New Kent.

A children’s Easter Egg Roundup sponsored by Stay ‘n Play and hosted by the Easter Bunny will take place Saturday at 6:15 PM before the rodeo. A total of 1,200 candy filled plastic eggs will be spread out over the Colonial Downs front lawn for kids 10 years of age & younger to collect.

Advance sale general admission tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for kids 12 & under. A value priced Family 4-Pack also is available for $30. Grandstand tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for kids. Purchases can be made at colonialdowns.com or at 804-966-7223, ext. 1032.
