Coles qualifies for NCAA East Preliminaries

Ryan Coles, a New Kent native and current Virginia Commonwealth University junior, earned a spot in the May 29 NCAA Track & Field East preliminary round championships in Jacksonville, FL. Coles qualified for the meet in shot (58’1”) and discus (172’6”) at the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Coles, a junior, is majoring in exercise science and is one of the first throwers in the history of VCU to make the championships. He is the son of Arthur and Tracie Coles of New Kent.
