Play for a cause

New Kent's host Lady Trojans and their basketball opponents, Poquoson's Islanders, joined to "Play for the Cause" in the fight against cancer. In a ceremony taking place between Tuesday night's JV and varsity games, cancer survivors, including New Kent assistant coach Candice Parsley, were honored. In the photo above, New Kent (left) and Poquoson players applaud as Parsley (foreground) details her victory over the disease. Below, the Lady Trojans present their coach with a gift before engaging in a group hug. Donations were collected for the American Cancer Society.
