New Kent Lady Hawks 12U softball team advanced to the Babe Ruth Southeast Regional tournament after finishing as runner-up of the state tournament during the Independence Day weekend with a 4-1 record. The team is currently raising money through fundraisers to support the regional trip to Florida. A spaghetti dinner is scheduled for Friday, July 10, 5-8 p.m. at Quinton Community Center with Krispy Kreme donut sales on Saturday at various locations throughout the county.
