New Kent High School golf takes Bay Rivers title

New Kent High School golf team shot 2358, accumulating an average of 314.4 through an eight-match season en route to claiming the Bay Rivers District team title.
The Trojans won five of the eight regular season contests, dethroning powerhouse Jamestown from the top position.
Parker Wallace’s average of 75.47 not only was the best on the team, but topped the league overall. Teammate Robb Kinder finished in second, posting an average of 76.67, while teammate Cole Baldwin’s median of 80.13 earned him a top ten finish on the year. Team Members Bryce Paige (14th-84.13), Jackson Gray (19th-86.67), and Ted Gentile (31st-90.00) helped New Kent maintain a double-digit stroke lead throughout the majority of the season.
New Kent will host the Conference 25 championships on Monday, Sept. 28 before participating in regional competition on Oct. 1 in the Shendadoah Valley.
