Allen garners first team conference, region collegiate volleyball honors

Karley Allen, a former New Kent standout and current women’s volleyball player at UVA-Wise, has repeated as a first team selection to the All-Mountain East Conference team.

Allen, a junior, registered 535 kills, 1,549 total attacks, 43 aces, and 495 digs for the season. Her average of 4.31 kills per set rates her fourth nationally in NCAA Division II, while her 12.49 attacks per set rates her seventh. She also became the first UVA-Wise player to reach the 1,000 career mark in both digs and kills on Oct. 24.

Allen was also named to the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) All-Atlantic Region Team, and earned honorable mention to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Atlantic Region Team.
