Panthers earn third place finish at home meet
Troy Crawley emerged as the lone individual event winner for host Charles City as they claimed third place during an Apr. 19 six-team meet.
Crawley claimed the top spot in the boys 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 11.85 to win the event for the Panthers. Charles City scored 74 points, trailing meet winner Mathews (179) and runner-up Cape Henry Collegiate (122). Rappahannock (50), Richmond Christian (40), and Grove Christian wrapped up the scoring.
On the girls’ side, the quartet of Veondra Brown, Jaelah Wyatt, Shanijah Brown, and Dayonna Henderson orchestrated a time of 57.60 in the 4×100 meter relay to win the event.
Charles City’s Lady Panthers accounted for 33 points, finishing fourth in the meet behind Mathews (138), Cape Henry Collegiate (84), Rappahannock (75) and ahead of Richmond Christian (25).
