New Kent falls two points short of Lafayette in Bay Rivers track meet

Lafayette scored 97 points to edge host New Kent’s 95 in the third of a series of track meets featuring all 10 Bay Rivers District schools.
The host Trojans were led by first place finishes from R.J. Morris in triple jump (41-5), Joe Dixon in shot (43-9.5), and Yuri Frazier at 800 meters (2:11.46) during Wednesday’s meet.
The Lady Trojans, meanwhile, totaled 42 points to place sixth overall. Courtney Pickett cleared 8 feet in pole vault to win the event and post New Kent’s lone first place finish.
