Colonial Downs announces 2020 race dates

Colonial Downs has announced its upcoming schedule for the 2020 season.

Virginia’s Racing Commission approved 18 race dates for the 2020 season for Colonial Downs. Racing will begin on July 23 and conclude Aug. 29, with races on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Post time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Colonial Downs will distribute $500,000 purses each day and provide a lucrative series of state bred and certified races. The G-3 Virginia Derby will close out the race season on Aug. 29, along with the Virginia Oaks, Rosie’s, and Kitten’s Joy Stakes.
